How To Maximize Your Probability to Be Awarded a Grant

Background on Grantor's Concerns Regarding Restrictions:

  • 501(c)(3) Restrictions: When asking to fund a specific need, charities at times, respond that they cannot accept funding for a specific request. because it is outside their established programs. This is because doing so could jeopardize their 501(c)(3) status.

  • Lack of Infrastructure: When requesting a charity to provide a significant amount to an orphanage they support, feedback was that contributions above certain thresholds would not actually make it to the children in the orphanage due to the lack of infrastructure.

  • Lack of Connection to Recipients: Donors are sometimes advised to contribute to the general fund, though this approach tends to create a disconnect between donors and recipients.

Strategy For How to Address the Concerns and Barriers

While a $1M grant for the poor, widows and orphans is valuable, given the magnitude of the opportunity, we want to look for ways to have a much larger impact by addressing the barriers that sometimes exist.  We believe that fostering a closer connection between givers and recipients will lead to increased funding availability and a greater positive impact on both parties.

To address these issues, we intend to do the following:

  1. Utilize the $1M grant to identify best practices and innovative solutions to most effectively respond to God's direction to help the poor, widows and orphans.

  2. Document those best practices and publish them in such a manner that they can be used broadly to help organizations effectively fulfill God's request.

  3. Enhance the motivation of funders by simplifying process of finding charities that implement best practices and innovative solutions for very targeted specific needs.

  4. Employ an AI approach to optimally match donors with charities, facilitating closer connections and improving funding availability while positively impacting both givers and recipients.
